Court Interpreters (20 Posts)

The Court Interpreters will report to various Head of Stations where they are posted.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

                     i.   Interpretation of court proceedings in local languages mainly: Suba, Kuria, Somali, Nubian, Chonyi and International languages mainly: Chinese, French, German and Sign Language;

                    ii.   Proof reading court proceedings;

                  iii.   Maintaining court diaries

                  iv.   Receiving, listing and securing exhibits; and

                    v.   Ensuring security of files and exhibits.

Qualifications and Experience

The candidate must:-

  1.   Be in possession of Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education mean grade C- (minus) with a C-(Minus)  in English & Kiswahili or its accepted equivalent;
  2.  Have school leaving certificate;
  3. Have certification in Foreign Languages,
  4.   Have Braille and or Sign Languages (for sign language interpreters)
  5.  Be proficient in Computer applications; and

              Have good personality and high integrity.
